From the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli the tour carries on by car to go up toward the historical center of Assisi, perched on the slopes of mount Subasio. Getting in from Porta Nuova you get to the Basilica of Santa Chiara where the remains of the saint and other items belonged to her are preserved. In the Chapel of the Crucifix you can find the crucifix that spoke to Francis in the church of San Damiano. The Assisi tour continues with the visit to the main places of faith, to the Basilica of Saint Francis decorated with wonderful frescoes by Giotto, Cimabue, Simone Martini and Pietro Lorenzetti.
